Google Meet AR Filter

For a project with Google Meet, I was responsible for 3D modeling in Maya, using concept art or reference images provided by the client. After modeling, I textured assets in Substance Painter and converted them into interactive filters using Blender, Three.js, and Google’s proprietary Effects Studio engine. Working on multiple filters simultaneously, I adapted to a wide range of styles, from stylized to realistic. Each project presented unique challenges, enhancing my problem-solving skills and ability to optimize assets for real-time applications.

Stylized Puffer Fish Filter: Using blend shapes, we created a smooth transition between its regular and puffed forms. Responsible for modeling and texturing.

Realistic Birthday Cake Filter with a comical effect: Everything but the cake is a static image rendered in Marmoset Toolbags. Responsible for modeling, texturing, and rendering.

Cat Ear and Glasses

Stylized Alien Character Filter: Tried my best to figure out the cute alien character design instead of going the creepy side.  Responsible for modeling and texturing.

Realistic Cat Ear and Glasses Filter: The Transition where the ears meet the head was especially challenging. Responsible for modeling, texturing, lighting, and optimizing.

Realistic Rusty Robot Filter: Created a functional and rigable robot. There’s a color change later on the production, but I was responsible for modeling and texturing. 

Realistic Unicorn Headband Filter: Our goal was a reasonable unicorn headband. Responsible for modeling, texturing, lighting, and optimizing.

Realistic Trucker Hat Filter: Figuring out the best hat/occluder shape to fit everyone’s head was challenging. Responsible for modeling, texturing, and rendering.

Realistic Fried Eggs Filter with a comical effect: All the background assets, including the table, placemat, and utensils, are rendered in Marmoset Toolbag. Res

Stylized Piglet Filter: By adding hair cards, we tried to create a soft and cute piglet. Responsible for modeling cleanups and texturing cleanups. 

Stylized Owl Filter: We started by studying owls’ anatomy and how the feathers lined up. Responsible for modeling and texturing.

Realistic Cat Headphones: A very vivid gaming headset piece. Responsible for mdoeling and texturing.

Realistic Fascinator: Tried to achieve an interesting shape language from any angle. Responsible for modeling, texturing, lighting, and optimizing.
